Awareness on New Court Initiatives Goes to Buyende, Kamuli

Public Outreach campaigns on Judiciary's new access to justice initiatives reached the districts Buyende and Kamuli.
The awareness campaign targeting court users/public in the two areas, are intended to promote the initiatives of Mediation, Plea Bargain and Small Claims Procedure over the next few days.
Judiciary's Senior Communications Officer, Mr Solomon Muyita, and the area Magistrate G1,HW Sumaya Kasule, are coordinating the week-long exercise.
Hand-in-hand with a team from the Communications Unit, they engaged an enthusiastic crowd and responded to numerous questions, both in the face-to-face engagements and on radio.
The team also distributed an assortment of IEC materials on the different initiatives.
The exercise is one of the avenues that the Judiciary is using to create awareness on court processes and services.
HW Kasule appreciated the construction of Buyende's new Courthouse, but said there urgent need for furniture, filing cabinets and electricity for the area to utilize the facility.
